Former CEO, Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility, and Executive Director, Clean Energy Finance Corporation

Chris Wade co-leads the Transaction and Advisory team at Sentient Impact Group, bringing over 20 years’ experience in investment management both in Australia and internationally. Chris’ career has spanned a range of investment sectors including impact, energy, infrastructure and property.

Prior to joining Sentient Impact Group, Chris held senior executive roles with two government-funded impact finance organisations. As CEO of the Northern Australian Infrastructure Facility (NAIF), a $5 billion development financing organisation, Chris led a wide-ranging change program which included an enterprise-wide restructure. During his tenure, he led a doubling of investment activity from $1.6 Billion to $3.2 Billion of investment decisions and secured bipartisan support for a new NAIF Act and Mandate which was passed by Federal Parliament in May 2021, significantly expanding the financing tools and flexibility of NAIF.

Chris was previously Executive Director (Head of Property) at the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC) and Head of Customised Accounts at AMP Capital Investors, where he was responsible for the management of AMP Capital’s $A3 billion customised infrastructure accounts business. He also held senior roles at Deutsche Asset Management, where he was Chief Investment Officer of the Pan Asian Infrastructure Fund, as well as Hastings Funds Management and Macquarie Bank.

Chris holds a Master of Applied Finance, Banking, Corporate, Finance, and Securities Law from Macquarie University, a Bachelor of Engineering and Bachelor of Commerce (first class honours) from the University of Western Australia, and has completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors Company Directors and Finance for Directors courses.
